When It Rains…Seek the Puddles

It’s been a bit of a rough week for me…just lots of things going on.  To add to it, it rained A LOT today…that certainly does quite a number on your mood, eh?  So, feeling a bit like Eeyore today, B and I decided to get out of the house during a break between rain showers.  (Note his green half-mustache…he was “writing” thank you cards to his friends for his birthday presents and apparently thought the mustache would flow nicely with his overalls.)

Anyway, the moment we stepped out into the gray, wet weather, B’s face lit up.  Immediately he ran to the largest puddle he could find and began throwing rocks and squishing mud.  My mood lifted….how could his joy not be contagious?

He paused only momentarily to poke a bug with a blade of grass.  He fell into a fit of giggles when it flew away.  My heart was melting.

Then…he discovered he could splash in the puddles.  And that was it.  He ran and ran, jumping, splashing, and squealing.

While he was having the time of his life today, B taught me the biggest lesson of all.  The world is beautiful…even when it is raining.
