While I was going through my photos today, I stumbled across an album from summer. We have been trapped inside with the melting snow and these pictures were a welcome sight. Since I got so off track with blogging last summer, I figured I’d show them now!
The kids set up a lemonade stand. How precious are they? I just love these pictures.
In June, I decided to hop in the car with the kids and drive to Richmond to visit my best girlfriends from college. It was amazing and well worth the drive (and the one million tears in the car from Gigi.) It was just the girls and the kids at my friend Whitney’s gorgeous house. If you are in the Richmond area, you have to check out her fabulous shop, Augustine Ave. This is Whitney’s backyard. I am convinced I now want to move to the country.
We ate crabs.
We played on the farm.
(This is Whitney’s baby girl and my little Gigi. It was so sweet for us to see the two of them together like this. They looked like two little shrunken versions of “us” hanging out.)
And had a slumber party. It was so much fun.
This summer, B turned five. FIVE. Where did the time go? He just wanted a small celebration with our family. I was kind of sad not to throw a big, fun party for him at first, but it sure was nice to just be able to relax and have cake!
We spent lazy days outside.
We cooked out with friends.
Here is our sweet, tiny friend rocking his Bayne Brewing Company shirt. If you are in the Lake Norman or Charlotte area, you must pop into Bayne Brewing Company in Cornelius. The atmosphere is laid back and the beer is amazing!
We celebrated my two beautiful nieces’ birthdays at the nearby equestrian center. B and Gigi fell in love with the horses-we need to make room in our schedule this summer for B to get horseback riding lessons.
(Gigi showing my father the horses.)
And there it is…a snippet of our summer. I am so excited for this summer! And someone please remind me I said that in July when I am hugely pregnant and complaining about how hot it is.
