I love Halloween. I start planning the kids’ costumes months before. This year, with baby Shep joining our clan, B wanted to make sure we planned a theme for the entire family. We ran through several ideas and finally settled on Peter Pan, with him being Peter and Gigi being Tink. She loved the idea. Then, he ditched us all and decided he wanted to be the “Black Panther.” (At first I thought he meant he wanted to be the animal.) But, no, as confirmed by the 50 million kids I saw donning the same garb, it was this year’s hot superhero costume. So, baby Shep took one for the team and was Gigi’s Peter Pan. They all turned out precious.
I decided to make Gigi’s costume again this year. Last year, I made this Cinderella costume for her and we both loved it.
I decided I wanted to make her costume every year that she would let me. In my head, I picture a closet full of these elaborate “tutu” costumes…though she’ll probably put the kibosh on that and want the store bought kind next year, ha! Anyway, here are two of my darlings. (Turns out our Peter Pan was either too tired for photos or having a blow-out in the costume.)
I found out one of my closest friends had her own Peter and Tink duo, so we made plans to get photos in the woods behind our house before trick-or-treating. They were some of my favorites.
There’s something so magical about Halloween.
